Ellie Goulding just cannot release bad music! The English singer-songwriter uploaded last night (Feb. 2) to her SoundCloud account a cover of the James Blake song "Life Round Here" (from his album "Overgrown") featuring Angel Haze. Listen below!
Wow. This cover is slaying me. This so could've been a song from "Halcyon". Two highlights about this cover...1). How did this Ellie and Angel Haze collaboration come about? Are they friends?, and 2) I didn't know Ellie's tone could go that low. Power to her.
First we saw Lorde covering James Blake's "Retrograde" in concert in Australia last week, and now we get a studio cover of "Life Round Here" by Ellie. Does James' 2014 Grammy nomination for "Best New Artist" have something to do with this new "trend"? I guess so!
